MTC Week 5: 10/7/2017

Hello my loving friends and family!!! I hope with all my heart you are all having a wonderful day!

This week was (no surprise) also awesome! My district did "Spanish Semana(Week)". We tried our best to speak only Spanish all week. It went really well! It's nice to speak English today and not feel bad about it.

On Sunday we had General Conference. I feel so blessed to be able to watch it! I hope you all watched it and learned something. Something I realized is that if you watch conference, read the scriptures, go to church or anything like that, and you don't change a little bit every time, you missed the point! These activities are for our benefit and learning. Try your best to take advantage of that!

This week we had our last TRC (Teaching Resource Center) lessons. We taught the same girl, named Nicky, for 3 weeks and it is so sad that it is over. My companion and I really grew to love her and cherish our time together.

Overall this week was really good. We practiced street contacting (where you just go up to someone on the street and start talking to them and see if they are interested in learning about the church). It was fun! I liked it a lot. I'm sure it will be way different in a real-life situation, but I had a good time anyway.

Last week Robert D Hales past away. For those who don't know he is an Apostle of Jesus Christ. We were all able to watch his funeral. It was really moving. I didn't know too much about him but he seemed like an incredible man.

Yesterday I got my flight plans from the MTC to my actual mission field! I am so excited! I am leaving next Monday at 2:30AM. Texas, here I come!!!

Funny Story: So, as a district we play volleyball almost every day during our exercise time. I was playing and I don't even remember what exactly was happening, but I was talking to someone and I ended up saying, "I'm not afraid of anything!" and right at that moment the volleyball came flying toward me and I screamed and ducked. Haha And then someone said, "anything except volleyballs!". It's was pretty funny hahahaha.

Anyway, I love you all and thank you so much for all your love and support!

Here's that mural that I love so much (: it's a bad picture, but you get the idea.

Mommy!
Thank you so much for the pictures! They make me so happy to see Jude
so happy. How is jess?
I got your package and all the letters and post cards throughout this
past week. Thank you so much! The food and pictures and pretty much
everything is very much appreciated. Hermana O'Neill hasn't gotten
very much mail at all and so your little bag for her in my package
made her really happy. She's not really a makeup I person though. But
she appreciated it none the less. She's pretty sporty and studious.

Is there a way you could send me a copy of the conference Ensign? I
would love that very much.

Spanish Week went well! I definitely feel like I learned more Spanish
this week than any other week. I love the feeling of being able to
speak Spanish! I still struggle, but it's coming slowly but surely.

Can you distribute these pictures for me?
The first one is us with Nicky! We had out last lesson with her this
week! It was so sad! I've grown to love her and love teaching her! She
is our TRC (teaching recourse center) which means she's a member who
acts like an investigator and we taught her 9 times. She ended up
wanting to be baptized! Woohoo!
The second and third pictures are my district's volleyball team
pictures. We always play volleyball during exercise time and we have
SO much fun. I will remember these memories with them forever. The
Elder in the top left with the gray t-shirt is Elder Valencia. He had
to go home for a bit for some personal reasons. We miss him a bunch.
The last picture is when Hermana O'Neill and I twinned! She has the
same skirt as me but longer!!!! What are the chances!?!?! We were very
proud hahaha.
