Service, 4th of July, and new people to teach! - 7/9/2018

Hello my beautiful friends and family!

We did a BUNCH of service. Now that the rains have pretty much gone away we have been going in to the homes that were flooded and helping people take everything out. We did two big projects this week and we will have at least one more this coming week. It's so fun! We get to breakdown walls and remove tiling and all that fun stuff.

The 4th of July was pretty fun! We were able to see some fireworks off in the distance and we at burgers at a member's home. Even though everyone around me is Hispanic, we're still in America! Thank goodness! God bless America <3

We got some new investigators this week which was awesome! Something really funny that happened was last night. We were walking back to our car from an appointment but we stopped and talked to this dad and his son outside doing their yard work. The dad wasn't super interested but the son (20 yrs old ish) went off about how he used to be atheist and almost committed suicide but then he discovered Jesus and turned his life around. We were like wow! That's so cool! Then he kept going about how he's been on a few mission trips too and all that. Then he started talking about how he "prays" for people and then they get healed.... well.... he kept going and I don't really know what happened but he ended up putting his hand on my neck and praying in the name of Jesus on me and commanding me to "be healed" (There's nothing wrong with me) and all that. Needless to say I feel exactly the same and he didn't have the correct authority to do that. I've gotten healing blessings before and so thank goodness I know how to tell the difference! He was a nice guy but it freaked me out a bit! Hahaha

Anyway, over all it was a great week and we're working hard to help the people in this wonderful place to come to a better understanding of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
