From City to Country - 4/9/2018

Hello My Beautiful Friends and Family! I hope this email finds you all well and healthy.

I am finally in the Río Grande Valley! So, I thought that Monte Cristo was a city but it is actually a road... The ward is just called Monte Cristo but I am actually serving in Mission and Alton, Texas. Its very rural in my part of the town. I love it! It is WAY different than Corpus Christi. No more city traffic and HEB 5 minutes away! Now, everything is at least a 15 minute drive! But its beautiful Texas country and so I am loving it. The ward that I am in was created less than a year ago and so it is struggling a lot but we are seeing many positive changes already and we are excited to see them all increase in faith and unity. I already have so much brotherly love for everyone I meet!

My new companion that I'm training is Sister Hatch! She is soooo awesome! She is from Kaysville, Utah and previously went to BYU for a couple semesters before her mission. She has awesome red hair and she's finally a companion that is shorter than me!!! Granted, she's only like half an inch shorter than me but it feels good because all of my previous companions were significantly taller than me. I'm excited to continue to work with her!

We have already seen many amazing things happen in this area. We have found many people who were willing to listen to our message and we are working hard to make sure everyone gets the chance to choose the true Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ. The stake president here is amazing! He is making so many changes in the favor of the missionaries and missionary work! He and our mission president have been working side by side to make this happen and I'm so excited that I get to be here for all these changes. They are completely redoing the meetings we have with ward members and they are just encouraging missionary work through members for than I've ever seen before!

The investigators of the church here are cool! We have two that were here when I came in and I'm excited to work with them. They are progressing in the Gospel! It's so rewarding to watch others come closer to Jesus Christ and become better people and strengthen their family. I can't tell you how much I love this work!

Anyway, it's great down here! These a TON more opportunities to speak Spanish. I probably have to speak Spanish with at least one person every day, usually more. Although we are in an English ward, many people we find speak Spanish and will end up going through then missionaries assigned to the Spanish wards. I hope I stay here for a long time. It's so wonderful!

One random story: we were taking out the trash before we left one day and as I opened the big trash bin there were two perfectly fine and filled helium balloons. So what did we do? We kept them and plan to clean them and have a helium voice party soon. We're excited.

I love you all very much! My new address that you can send things to is

Please please feel free to mail me stuff. I really love getting mail!

I love you all!
